Education
Off to Parkersburg, West Virgina to a 3 day training course with one of my personal mentors in my dental career, Dr Jay Gerber. I have gained a wealth of knowledge and expertise from him over the years that has allowed me to successfully treat the TMD/ TMJ patients in our Coulee Region. Dr. Jay skillfully shares his knowledge of airway and jaw function. I was privileged to meet him early in my career and have been grateful ever since. He has made a marked impact on how I treat my guests in our patient family. Thanks Jay

Lecture FEB 2009
I had the wonderful opportunity to lecture with 3 other colleagues to 80 area dentists today. We warmly welcomed those that travelled up to 3 hours away to share their day with us. We focused on the predictable placement of implants as a solution for our patients with missing teeth. The methodical steps laid out for the planning, placement and final restoration are the groundwork to ensure our success.
Thanks for the invitation to join you on stage Leo. I value your friendship as a dental colleague and personal friend.

Vacation
I was fortunate to break away from our bitter cold weather this week as scuba diving had my name on it ! Great timing for a week away from Wisconsin, as this was an unusual week of below zero temps with bitter wind chills. Curaco provides a great escape and wonderful scuba diving. Swimming with fish & watching the rays and octupus provide great relaxation. Best part was celebrating my Birthday on a sunny beach ! Thanks to my dive buddy- the trip was a great rejuvination for my return to the office !

Year End 2008
Here we are wrapping up a Great 2008!! The Holidays were extra special this year as all of my children made it home to celebrate. We were especially excited that Dan and his wife Erika could join us from Madrid, Spain. Dan’s twin sister, Carolyn and her husband Joe also flew in from sunny Arizona to our bitter midwest Christmas. Lots of snow and below zero weather for our fair weather kids to enjoy ! Kristen, my eldest, and her spouse Larry and beautiful grandchildren Sydne ( 8 yr ) and Preston ( 3 yr ) made our holiday complete. How fortunate that we could share this time together ! As we approach the new year, one can’t help but reflect on the happenings of 2008 & all that we are grateful for. I cherish my health and happiness, my family & friends and my passion to give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully. Looking toward 2009 with great expectations of all the lives I can touch through my work , my leisure and my education.

Soda Pop : Wow !
I just had a young lady in my office who has experienced extensive damage to her teeth from excessive soda consumption. She admits sipping Mt Dew almost all day at her place of employment. She has extensive decay on many teeth and is faced with the immediate prospect of several root canals on her front six teeth due to the extent of damage. Constant bathing of the teeth with soda pop is so damaging. One 12 ounce can of soda contains between 10 to 12 teaspoons of sugar. Acids in the soda begin to dissolve your tooth enamel in only 20 minutes. Even sugar free or diet soda contains acid that can damage your teeth. If you must drink soda, have it with a meal, but work on not constant sipping.

My team and I have just completed two days of advanced training with Mr. Johnson from the Las Vegas Institute for Dental Studies. He shared many tips and tools that have allowed us to create our wonderful environment and provide life changing results to our guests ! Thanks for all of the great complements & reminding us of all the things we do that are appreciated by our patient family. It is the little things that make a difference !
